ABOUT THE HYMN:
A savior is one who generally comes in from the outside to rescue people from whatever oppresses them. Our Savior came from highest heaven to deliver us from the sin and death we had brought upon ourselves. He came not as a violent military conqueror, but as a “Man of Sorrows,” as a Servant, as a submissive, sacrificial Lamb. He gave Himself completely for our deliverance. Hallelujah, what a Savior!
